Variant 3 is a no-no for me. If you look at the small thumbnails of the image your shield looks a little 'waxy' - almost like a wax seal. This is what I thought the image was: a wax seal shaped like a shield. On closer inspection though it seems that the lines are too sharply pronounced and could be slightly more rounded where there are corners. The same is true for the type also. The inner shapes are not smooth enough resulting in a rigid looking type when in fact it should be fluid...
